PDC Players Championships 1 Photo: PDC Gary Anderson claimed a third tournament Quarter-Finals victory of 2014 when the 128 PDC Tour Card holders headed to Barnsley on 15th March for Andrew Gilding 6-2 Darren Webster the first of this years Players Championship James Wade 6-5 Ronnie Baxter Events. Gary Anderson 6-3 Andy Hamilton Anderson started his road to a third title of the year with a 111 average in his opening game, against fellow Scotsman Gary Stone, before triumphs over John Henderson and James Hubbard saw him win through to the last 16. The Scot then defeated fellow Premier League star Wes Newton 6-3 before ending Andy Hamilton’s day with a 6-3 quarter-final triumph, and the same scoreline was recorded by Anderson in his semi-final win against Mervyn King. In a thrilling to-and-fro final it was Anderson who took the early advantage over his opponent Andrew Gilding, taking the opening three legs of the match, and whilst Gilding recovered well to level the match up at 5-5 it was ultimately the more experienced Anderson who claimed victory.
