Premier League: Week 7 Photo: PDC/Lawrence Lustig Week 7 of this season’s Betway Premier League saw the action taking pace in Leeds in front of a post-war record darts crowd of over 11,000, who were treated to some top quality action as the battle to avoid elimination began to heat up. Phil Taylor continued his resurgence at the expense of Wes Newton, who found himself in the bottom two, whilst Simon Whitlock remained rooted to the foot of the table after securing only his third point of the campaign as he drew with Dave Chisnall. At the top end of the table a 7-5 victory for Michael van Gerwen saw him move ahead of Peter Wright, after the Scotsman could only secure a draw against Raymond van Barneveld. Dave Chisnall 6-6 Simon Whitlock Chisnall pushed into an early 3-0 lead, and indeed he was looking good to inflict a seventh defeat on the Australian ace, but Whitlock was in the mood to fight for his Premier League status and he soon had the gap closed to 3-2. Chisnall was able to regain his three leg lead, thanks to taking a further two legs in a row, to move in front at 5-2, but a battling Whitlock closed in once more, taking the eighth leg before adding the ninth after the players had traded 180s.
