Premier League: Week 11
A trip to Northern Scotland was the order of the day for the
remaining eight Betway Premier League stars on Thursday
17th April, with both Adrian Lewis and table topping Michael
van Gerwen facing the prospect of playing two matches on the
night.
For Lewis it couldn’t have gone any worse, he first fell victim to an in
form Gary Anderson, before returning to the stage later on in the night
to face Michael van Gerwen, who recovered well from an earlier loss
to Phil Taylor as he compounded Lewis’ suffering.
In the night’s other matches there were victories for Dave Chisnall over
Peter Wright and Raymond van Barneveld over Robert Thornton, who
finds himself at the bottom of the table and well and truly out of the
play-off race.

In truth this match was much more one-sided than the scoreline would
suggest. Anderson had heavy backing from a partisan Scottish crowd
and perhaps not surprisingly Lewis was receiving some boos.
The Scotsman took full advantage of this fact in the opening leg as he
defied a Lewis 180 to land an exceptional 138 checkout. Indeed, this
pattern continued throughout the early stages, with Anderson, who
was awesome on his doubles, racing into a 6-0 lead and securing his
first point of the night.
