The Betway Premier League roadshow headed across the Irish
Sea once more as a crucial week’s action took place at the O2
in Dublin on Thursday 27th March.
Simon Whitlock became the first player to be eliminated from the 2014
event, as Phil Taylor secured his survival and Michael van Gerwen ended
the unbeaten run of Peter Wright.

Wes Newton broke throw in the opening leg of the match as he looked
to keep himself clear of the relegation zone, but it was Anderson who
in the end had the best of the early stages, the Scotsman racing into
a 3-1 lead.

The pair traded 180s in the fifth leg, which Newton took to close the
gap, but it was a short stay of execution for the Fleetwood-based
thrower, who soon found him
