Robbie Green claimed victory in the Scottish Open as he
overcame Jamie Hughes of Wales 6-4 in the final. Earlier in
the day Green had defeated Glen Durrant in the semi-finals
along with Scotlands Michael Mallone in the quarter finals.
Hughes reached the final courtesy of victories over Scott Mitchell in
the quarter finals and Martin Adams in the semi-finals as the Welshman
put together an impressive run that only came to an end at the hands
of an in form Green.
In the ladies tournament Anastasia Dobromysloval whitewashed Tricia
Wright 4-0 in the final, having achieved the same scoreline in a win over
Lorraine Winstanley in the semi-finals as the Russian ace put together
an impressive display to secure the tournament victory.
In the weekends other action Pip Blackwell and Robbie Green won
the mens’ pairs event, whilst Lorraine Winstanley and Anastasia
Dobromyslova took victory in the ladies’ pairs.
