Many of you, certainly those from the Midlands,
will already be aware of the Cleveland Arms in
Wolverhampton. As one of the UK’s top darts
pubs they specialise in bringing top quality
nights of exhibition darts to a wide audience
and their nights attract punters from far and
wide.
This month saw the first of the Cleveland’s four
planned exhibitions for 2014. Featuring Wayne
Mardle, Ted Hankey and MC ‘Little’ Richard Ashdown.
The night was a huge success, with two of dart’s top
entertainers thrilling a capacity crowd, who at times
could barely watch the darts for laughing.
Cleveland Arms manager Will Adamson puts there
success down to a simple formula: “We like to
keep it simple,” he said. “We run about four or five
events a year, including our pre-Grand Slam party in
November.”
“We charge a flat rate to all our customers, normally
around £10-£12 and have never really found the
need to offer VIP tickets. The formula works well for
us and the events are growing in popularity.”
“We also like to give fans a chance to meet the
players on the night, it all adds to the enjoyment
and we find it brings people back again and again.”
The Cleveland have the mix just right, there is
plenty of darts, a must of course, along with
opportunities to get up close and personal with your
favourite players. The night’s go down a storm in
Wolverhampton and news is spreading fast with fans
travelling from further afield than ever before to
come and have a taste of what they have on offer in
Wolverhampton.
If this month’s event is anything to go by then you
really should be looking at heading down to one of
the events already planned for July and November,
and with further announcements to come watch this
space when it comes to Wolverhampton’s top darts
venue.
