Premier League: Week 3 The Betway Premier League stars made the first of their two trips across the Irish Sea on Thursday 20th February when they took darts greatest roadshow to the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. Peter Wright remained unbeaten as he defeated Phil Taylor, whilst Michael van Gerwen moved clear at the top of the table thanks to a win over Dave Chisnall. Robert Thornton 7-2 Gary Anderson Thornton put on an impressive display as he defeated fellow Scotsman Anderson in the opening match of the night. The former UK Open champion raced into a 3-0 lead during the early stages before a 121 checkout for Anderson helped him to close the gap to 3-2. It was Thornton who kicked on after the break, indeed The Thorn, who landed 8 maximums during the match, took each of the last four legs to finish up with a 7-2 victory. “I’m very happy to play like that tonight,” said Thornton, who averaged over 105. “It was just a case of finding my rhythm and I played that little bit quicker tonight like I did at Alexandra Palace and that really worked for me.” “I kicked off every leg with a treble figure score and that’s massive, you put pressure on any player out there with scoring like that.” “I’m really over the moon with that result” Peter Wright
