Premier League: Week 6
The Capital FM Arena in Nottingham was the venue for the
sixth week of this year’s Betway Premier League on Thursday
13th March and the action began to intensify as the relegation
cut-off began to loom large.
Phil Taylor picked up a crucial victory over Dave Chisnall in what was
effectively a four-pointer, whilst Peter Wright remained top of the
league and unbeaten as he overcame Simon Whitlock, leaving the
Australian at the foot of the table.
There were also big wins for the playoff chasing pair of Adrian Lewis
and Michael van Gerwen and a hard fought draw between Raymond van
Barneveld and Robert Thornton.
Peter Wright 7-3 Simon Whitlock
Whitlock closed the gap further in the sixth after Wright had missed
bull for an 87 checkout, but the Scotsman was able to return to winning
ways in the seventh, which he took with a checkout of 76, before
securing a point with a 92 checkout in the very next leg.
Whitlock responded again in the ninth but it was to ultimately be in
vain as Wright secured both points to ensure that he would head into
week seven at the top of the table.
“This was a great win for me,” said Wright. “It was a dream at first to
stay unbeaten but now I’m getting to the stage that I don’t want to

Wright raced into an early 4-0 lead after landing a maximum in leg
one and an impressive 132 checkout in leg three, before his Australian
