Adrian Lewis found life somewhat more comfortable as he overcame Mervyn King 10-6. The Stoke-based thrower raced into a 4-1 lead at the first break and was averaging over 103. King did produce a response during the second session, closing the gap to 6-4 at the second break, with Lewis needing to produce a 107 checkout to maintain his lead. When the players returned to the stage King initially closed the gap further but it was Lewis who was playing the better and the two-time World Champion closed the match out with relative ease. Final Adrian Lewis produced arguably the best display of his career at exactly the right moment as he averaged 109.13 in an 11-1 victory that left Jenkins without a major title despite reaching an eighth final.
