Fish & Chip Shop Fish & Chips in the City is a modern take on the traditional fish & seafood restaurant, just minutes from Liverpool Street station. It has a great bar and is also open for breakfasts. To top it all they have just opened a great terrace. They don’t sell cigars but you can take your own. For more details see www.thefishandchipshop.uk.com/city The builders are in at James J Fox Those of you who have visited the upstairs sampling room at James J Fox in St James’s street over the last few years may well have seen some plans of a refurbishment for the upstairs area. As with many old buildings, getting the plans approved has taken a while but now work is underway and the new area should be ready to receive custome rs to sample a cigar later in the summer. Re-opening of the Lanesborough Roof top ‘beach life’ at Selfridges Vintage Salt is the latest incarnation on the rooftop of Selfridges. Inspired by a Cornish fishing village and complete with deck chairs and great food & drinks it’s a perfect spot to spend a couple of sunny hours with a cigar as the seagulls wheel overhead. For more details see www.selfridges.com/content/vintage-salt The scaffolding is coming down and the much missed Garden Room terrace at the Lanesborough Hotel is getting ready to reopen sometime in June and we understand there will be a few familiar faces working in one of London’s original ‘post smoking ban’ Comfortable Outdoor Smoking Areas’. Look out for a full report in next month’s issue. Nico Puro launch in the UK and a road trip with George Sosa (Nica Pic) The latest cigar from the Alec Bradley stable arrived in the UK at the beginning of May and it’s arrival is marked by another visit to these shores by George Sosa, Alec Bradley Vice President of Sales. George will be visiting retailers and hosting exclusive Nica Puro cigar events across the country from London to Glasgow. Details of all the events in our diary. We have an interview with George on pages 33 & 34 of this month’s magazine and we can confirm that an evening with George is not to be missed. Holborn Dining Room Spring Makeover 3 The terrace at the Holborn dining room has also received a makeover in time for the summer. We reviewed the restaurant in the February issue (excellent it was too) so if you are in the Holborn area and looking for a bite and a cigar check out the newly refreshed terrace. There will be cigar events during the summer so keep an eye on the diary and the web site for details.
