18 months ago, the first cigars to land in the UK
were the Prensado and the Black Market cigar
ranges. One year later the Tempus was added
with some limited Fine and Rare limited edition
offerings. Then in 2014 the 7 x 70 Texas Lanceros
arrived along with Nica Puro Diamond Rough Cut
and the 2014 Fine and Rare Limited Editions and in
2015 the Nico Puro is being launched from 1st May,
with more ranges to follow in time.
George’s see’s his job very clearly; He needs to
get people to trust the company and to try their
cigars. If you have ever met the man and looked
him in the eye you will know
where he is coming from. Born in New Jersey he
is a large, straight talking, ex navy Master Chief
with a 25 year naval career behind him. When
he left the Navy, and already a cigar lover, he
learned his trade with Tabacalera Perdomo and
Miami Cigar Co before joining Alec Bradley.
The eponymous Alec will join the company this
year and his brother Bradley will join when he
finishes college. They are likely to head out on
the road and George will spend more time in
Florida strategising and tinkering with his heavy
duty old pace car. I’m sure the boys will be great
but George is a ‘serious piece of work’ and a
fantastic and very passionate representative of a
company he is clearly passionate about.
If you get a chance to meet him and to smoke
a cigar with him on his current UK round you
should grab it. You won’t regret it. When he
gets up to speak he is 50% salesman and 50%
vaudeville act. There is never a dull moment
when George is in the house.
