Beer and Cigars at the Edward Sahakian Cigar Lounge at the Bulgari Beavertown started in 2011 as an experiment in home brewing inspired by craft brewers in the USA. The experiment grew into a small Brew House alongside a London BBQ restaurant with the beers referencing both the USA and Midlands Black county ales. In 2012 the range started to expand both its range and capacity. The brewery moves out to Hackney Wick and a new level of brewing is available. In 2014 the brewery grew again and with a new head brewer on board moved to Tottenham Hale and in addition to addition capacity (again) added a canning line for better long term stability for the beers. 2015 saw yet another expansion, with bigger brewing tanks, by now you are probably gathering that this business is a runaway success. Mike had selected two cigars to pair with the ales: Vegas Robaina Famosos 2014 Partagas Seleccion Privada LE 2014 As you will see from the pictures it was a hugely successful evening. Sam Millard from Beavertown joined Mike Choi, Sam introduced four ales: Gamma Ray, “ A juicy tropical beer”. 8 Ball Rye IPA, “Dry as the Nevada desert” Smog Rocket, “Smoked porter, Inspired by London’s Industrial Revolution” Indian Stout, “A contradiction in terms. A Black India Pale.” More information on Beavertown is available here www.beavertownbrewery.co.uk 28
