What was it that got you into working with wood
in the first place?
I was a accomplished model builder of boats
winning the “Golden Hammer Award” from a
popular magazine in the USA called Mechanics
Illustrated for a scale model of a Tahiti Ketch I
built and then radio controlled boats and planes
throughout my youth. I would say when people
asked me how I learned to make models and then
build a sailboat, if you can read you can make
anything.
These years of carving by hand and then with
small tools, gave me the ability to make humidors
to Dunhill quality standards.
