New Product Ranges

To finish up for this edition, I’d like to introduce two new product ranges that are arriving late March with our first shipment of the year: Rob’s Smokin’ Rubs from California, and Sucklebusters from Texas.

Rob’s Smokin’ Rubs

As with the vast majority of the products we stock, Rob Ryan developed Rob’s Smokin’ Rubs for competition in the States. Coming up with the name was the easy part; it was after sitting around with a few friends drinking beer that he decided on the Frog as his Logo. Why, you may ask, a Frog? “Cuz everyone knows a frog says, ‘Rub-it, Rub-it’ and that is exactly what you do with a dry rub and meat.”

When creating a sauce that complimented the rub on his ribs, Rob felt he had to stick with the Frog theme; hence, FROG SAUCE was born. Rob’s Frog Sauce has a bold and tangy bite to it. Just enough heat to give it a kick but not too much that the flavour of the meat is lost. Well, he did it right because he won ‘Best Sauce on the Planet’ (1st), 3rd & 9th at the 2017 American Royal.

In response to a request from his wife, Rob produced ‘Rob’s Frog Sauce - Sweet and Tangy’ to enhances her meat without the kick – it has the same bold and tangy taste, but it’s a little sweeter than the original sauce. Both sauces compliment any meat, but can also be used as a condiment on your side dishes as well. They go great on baked potatoes, pasta, corn-on-the-cob, and most anything else you like to put a sauce on.

Sucklebusters

SuckleBusters Texas-Style BBQ Rubs have been winning awards and pleasing hungry cowboys for years. These rubs are not just for the backyard cook - Competition BBQ Teams use their products every weekend all across the United States and beyond. Their all-natural BBQ Rubs and Seasonings are MSG Free, Gluten Free, and Preservative Free.

‘1836’ Prime Beef Rub - has a generous amount of half-cracked black pepper, sea salt and garlic. Made for prime beef.

Competition BBQ Rub - is mild and savoury with traditional BBQ flavours. It has a pleasing aroma and works well on beef or any meat.

‘Clucker Dust’ Chicken Rub - their sweet and spicy chicken rub, made with Chipotle powder. This rub will take your yard bird to a ‘whole nuther level’!

‘Hog Waller’ BBQ Rub - sweet with a hint of chipotle peppers, their No. #1 selling BBQ rub. ‘Hog Waller’ is made for pork.

‘Hoochie Mama’ BBQ Rub - the name says it all. ‘Hoochie Mama’ is Hot, Spicy and Sweet. It is an excellent all-purpose, traditional BBQ Rub with a kick.

Salt Pepper Garlic (SPG) BBQ Rub - a premium blend of Sea Salt, Black Pepper and Garlic. A couple of extra ingredients have been added just to keep it interesting. Large flakes.

Sweet Texas Pecan - is their sweetest rub with hints of pecan smoke for flavour. It is medium spicy and great on ribs and chicken or any BBQ meat.

Texas Beef Rub - has a traditional and balanced BBQ flavour. This rub is very mild. It is perfectly matched for brisket with a nice, garlicy flavour.

Texas Hold 'Um No Salt - everything you need without the salt.

Original BBQ Sauce – Mild - This BBQ Sauce has won many National Awards: Scovies Awards, Best of the Best BBQ Sauce, Fiery Food's Golden Chiles, National BBQ Association and the American Royal in Kansas City, MO. This all-natural sauce works well on all meats and is mild with just a hint of heat. It's hard to beat the original!

Honey BBQ Sauce – Mild - WOW, this sauce is a winner right out of the gate, picking up 2 Golden Chile Awards its first year. The sauce is used by Competition BBQ Teams and is super sweet, light on spices and imparts a bright red colour when used as a finishing glaze...and finish it does! Teams win with Honey BBQ Sauce!

Peach BBQ Sauce – Mild - Yes, peaches make great BBQ Sauces! They emulsify peach halves for the base ingredient of this product & add traditional BBQ seasonings. The results? Light and sweet BBQ Sauce! The sauce works well on fish, chicken, pork or as a finishing glaze on ribs .

Well, I think that’s more than enough from me for this issue at least…. if not for all future issues as well.

I look forward to meeting up with many of you later this year.

Enjoy your BBQ!
