K3 Waste Busters!
As part of their “Sharing the planet” unit of Inquiry K3 students have been learning about the impact waste has on our world and they explored different ways to care for our environment. The valuable three R’s were regularly mentioned – Reduce Reuse Recycle.
K3 students gathered recycled waste to bring to school. Watching their pile of waste grow each day made them reflect on the amount of waste we produce. They engaged in a variety of waste related activities which including discussing, sorting and recording new information.
Parents too participated in a recycling activity where they were asked to make recycling fashionable clothing. Preparing creative outfits with their children using cardboards boxes, plastic materials and old clothes made for a valuable learning experience. K3 are on an exciting journey to becoming global citizens.
