After arriving at the entrance of base camp, Eapo told us to go into a restaurant and wait for him, so we did. He came back 5 minutes later with sandwiches for our lunch and we each got one of four chicken, salami, salad, or egg (sound familiar?). After that we boarded a bus and headed off to a small parking lot were we met our bikes for the biking activity. We set off for the magnificent Yangshuo mountains. After that we returned back to base camp, showered, ate dinner, wrote in our battered camp journals and settled in for the night.

In group threeY5G (with a made up name of garlic and onions) we headed off to our first independent activity: zip-lining and abseiling (not a typo it is spelled abseiling). First we had to climb a mountain that had a cave that made a perfect hole on the side that ran through the mountain. We climbed up onto the cave's highest point where Mr. Eapo told us that the cave was called Treasure Cave. Then we waited in line to be strapped on to all the safety equipment.

After we were strapped on, he let us down the zip line and we landed on a small rock barely big enough for us to stand on.

As the feeling of success clamped tightly on our souls, we headed off to base camp, had a shower, ate dinner, wrote in our nearly-annihilated camp journals and went to bed in our tents.
