Galvanised coils and sheets have the coating of zinc over cold rolled steel to protect it
from corrosion. Zinc offers sacrificial protection i.e. when there is a cut on the galvanised
steel sheet, zinc sacrifices itself in preference to iron and this prevents corrosion.
