He was born in 1956.
Education Experience
He studied Law in the University of Athens and attended seminars of marketing and management.
Work Experience
He worked in the private sector as a manager of S.A. enterprises in the sector of advertisement, graphic
arts and media.
Political Experience
In 1974, he joined the left-wing movement.
He has been a member of Synaspismos (Coalition of Left and Progress) since its creation and member
of its Central Political Committee in various periods.
He also participated in the union movement, the local government movement and the ecological
movement.
In July 2009, he was elected Secretary of the Central Political Committee of Synaspismos.
In July 2013, he was elected first secretary of SYRIZA Parliamentary Committee and he remained in this
post until March 1, 2015.
In the elections of 2015, he was elected SYRIZA MP in Athens B constituency. 
Head of the Greek delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe since February
2015 and the Chairman of the Inquiry Committee for investigation and clarification of the conditions
and liabilities which led Greece to entering the Memoranda (MOUs) and supervision status and of
any other issue related to the application and implementation of the Memoranda (MOUs).
Ministerial l Experience
He received the office of Alternate Minister of National Defence on July 18, 2015 and again after the
elections of September 20,2015.
