They say chemistry is important in a relationship…so when Patrick and
Katja became chemistry lab partners at Purdue University, their chemical
reaction resulted in a marriage [seven years later].
With their shared passion and career in chemical engineering, the couple
decided to showcase their unity during their intimate outdoor ceremony
with a personal, unique twist. As the Bride and Groom put on their lab coats
and goggles, the newlyweds partook in a ‘chemical union’ by individually
pouring their chemical into the same beaker together. You may have heard
of couples partaking in a unity sand or candle ceremony to display their
unification, however; Katja and Patrick took a different route (which their
audience seemed to LOVE by the laughter and smiles throughout the rows).
