Banja " Rusanda " for 150 years has been very important institution for the rehabilitation and treatment , and also a place of cultural gatherings and social life in Banat . It is located on the shore of the lake Rusanda , near the town of Zrenjanin , in a protected nature park with particularly pleasant microclimate , in which are registered more than 200 species of birds and some rare species of plants . Significant advantages of this spa , in which there is a Special Hospital , central spa institution , are a multitude of potentials : professional , experienced team of 275 employees ( 17 of them are doctors ), 8 pavilions with more than 300 beds , 85 apparatus for physical therapy , Hydro block , Peloid block with a mud of extraordinary therapeutic value , all located in beautiful natural surroundings .
The most effective peloid therapy in Serbia is carried out in Banja Rusanda . Silt and mud , which are drawn from the lake , have a big healing power and once were exported to the main European capitals . At the beginning of the 19th century , it was found that , by their chemical composition , mud and water from thermo mineral spring , are the most similar to those in famous spas Marienbad and Francesbad . In this spa are successfully treated : skin diseases , post-traumatic conditions , various forms of rheumatism , neurological problems , vascular diseases , problems with muscle system , gynecological problems and others .
