among those reading it would be unreal . The world was finally getting a real glimpse into the secret it fought so hard to bury . A secret only known to those who were living their daily lives being black in America .
RACISM HAS A FACE
Nine months after his death , six months after the verdict and two months since the Department of Justice report , we have arrived at a place no one thought would ever come . I walk down West Florissant , a street located in Ferguson where feet marched down for months . I see faces with hope hidden beneath the surface , yet cannot fully trust the light at the end of the tunnel . Young people who shield their fear with rebellion look over their shoulders , hoping they are not the next face to appear across the screen . Meanwhile , countless heads have rolled , resignations have been submitted and blame has been thrown in every direction possible . Officials whose only job was to protect everyone in the community seemed to only want to protect themselves . It would seem to those who are naïve to the history of this city , of this community , it seems restoration is underway . For many who have
