Tool Review

5

I love using Kahoot! The kids get engaged (even those that claim they do not want to be there), and they actually learn something.

I use this tool for guidance lessons, and when the kids do not know how many electives they need in order to graduate, I take that moment to discuss what the correct answer is, and many students are able to recollect this later. I have actually had a student rattle off the graduation requirements to me in my office months after we did the Kahoot with them in class. They do not see it as learning, but they are learning. Many of them actually want to do another one afterwards because they enjoy it so much.

For teachers who have advisory, this is a tool we used, and it was a hit with the kids. The teachers enjoyed themselves, and we were able to reward the students who performed well because it showed that they paid attention. Since teachers can save the results they can go back and reward all students who scored a certain amount.

It honestly does not take that long to make the quiz, and you can copy it as many times as you want in the event you want a pre- and post-test that are similar but change a few questions. Kahoot is fantastic!
