ENRICHMENT CLASSES FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES All Classes Run from August 21- December 20 unless otherwise noted. Classes are $15/$12 members unless otherwise specified. Toddler Tumbling | 12-28 months Mondays, 3:15 – 3:45 pm An introduction to gymnastics; the class will have a variety of materials set out for children to explore. There will be mats, tunnels, push-pull toys, balls, hoops, scarfs, music and much more for the children to do and learn how to use the materials in a variety of ways. Instructor: Sarah Warren Gym Ballet I Ages 2 – 5 Mondays Creative introduction to ballet terminology, barre exercises and movement across the floor. Instructor: TBA 2 - 3 years, 3:15 – 3:45 pm 4 - 5 years, 2:15 – 3 pm Mind/Body Studio Animal Yoga I Ages 3 – 11 Mondays, 4:15 – 5 pm An introduction to yoga, focusing on a variety of methods which help children channel their energy positively. Students will learn how to bring their heart rates up and back down in a heart healthy way. An introduction to various yoga poses, emphasizing popular animal poses, which will help create and sustain methods for self-soothing capabilities. Instructor: Sarah Warren Racquet Ball Court Singing and Moving with Mom I 4 – 15 months Tuesdays, 9 – 10 am This class combines music, sign language and movement that everyone can have fun participating in! The first and last 15 minutes of class will be spent having a light snack, getting to know one another and sharing ideas. Instructors: Marian Schiltz & Rochelle Ramey Jewish Heritage Center 23 | TUCSON J Hip Hop I Ages 3 – 5 Tuesdays An introduction to hip hop style dance. Come join this sub- culture of art movement, where we incorporate rhythmic and rhyming beats through dance. Teacher: TBA 3 - 4 years, 3:15 – 3:45 pm 4 - 5 years, 2:15 – 3 pm Mind/Body Studio Lunch Bunch I Ages 2 – 5 Wednesdays, 12:15-1 pm Make healthy eating choices fun and exciting by having lots of color and interesting ways to prepare healthy meals. Inspired by our discover CATCH program, the children will help choose, create, prepare and eat a well-rounded lunch together. Each lunch will satisfy Arizona Department of Health Guidelines and always include a variety of foods from the five food groups. Instructor: Marian Schiltz Demo Kitchen Science Squad I Ages 3 - 15 Wednesdays Children will gain a lifelong interest in science by performing hands on cooking experiments, scavenger hunts, and experience the natural world through self-discovery. All students will become familiar with using the steps of scientific inquiry in order to make logical decisions. Older students will be able to take scientific facts and analyze their accuracy. They will also complete a final project in a science field of their choice and present it to friends, family and The J community.
