Arts Workshop for Rosh Hashanah Sunday, September 17, Noon – 2 pm In this workshop, in preparation for Rosh Hashanah you will be guided through a mixed-media process that invites our reflection on the seven spiritual building blocks (Sefirot) with which G-d created the world. You will create a project that will invite us to reflect on Kindness, Severity, Harmony, Perseverance, Splendor, Foundation and Loyalty. This is a family friendly event. All are welcome! The Jewish-Jazz Connection and the Great American Songbook:  A Musical Review Wednesday, October 18, 6:30 pm A musical review of the Jewish-Jazz Connection and the Great American Songbook from the swinging jazz that brought America to its feet in dance halls across the U.S. in the 30s and 40s, to the Brazilian bossa nova craze that swept the nation in the 50s and 60s. Robin Bessier’s Jazz Trio explores this rich tapestry in a concert that will both entertain and educate. $12/$10 members Ballroom 10 | TUCSON J Sunday, December 10, 11am – Noon Members of the Tucson community will share dramatic and poignant accounts of their persecution at the hands of the Nazis, and of perseverance and survival. Learn how the book evolved, and how local schools are using the book in their curriculum. Copies of the book will be available for purchase, with proceeds to benefit the Holocaust Program at Jewish Family & Children’s Services.
