‘ASCON’ Continuous Rotary Extrusion Technology – the evolution continues ASMAG GmbH has announced that it can offer its’ Continuous Rotary Extrusion (CRE) technology for the production of precision aluminium and aluminium alloy tubes following an extensive development project, carried out in cooperation with industrial partners. The development team, working closely with the customers’ engineers, analysed a number of factors relating to the materials and profiles required to meet the specific market demands now and into the future. The customer brief required the production of thin wall aluminium and high strength alloy tubes in various forms and the resulting physical development was successful as ASMAG utilised its’ own pilot plant at the headquarters in Scharnstein, Austria. The new application has been added to the already broad range of solutions offered by the ASCON CRE process, including aluminium sectors and profiles, copper and copper alloy bars and profiles. This recent project is one of many that ASMAG is currently working on with market leaders in their respective fields to develop new applications and innovations. ASCON CRE technology development is an ongoing process that is key to keeping ASMAG at the forefront of CRE technology globally. The ASCON range of CRE equipment has been developed with a design emphasis on high quality, precision engineered equipment using in-house manufacturing capability, encompassing excellent user experience to ensure that the equipment is both easy to operate and maintain. With cost of ownership and productivity as the primary drivers in production businesses around the globe, extrusion wheel changes can be completed in under 30 minutes. This advancement alone considerably improves on the current industry standard of 2 to 8 hours, significantly increasing potential yield and production capability.
