It is completely unheard of for all team members to be from a single school (it is very rare for them even to be from a single university). JC Fayers (D, 90-95) croons: ‘Win Coll rock band The Beards recently reunited for their first live performance since 1996, following a successful recording session in Harlow in 2014. The band, consisting of Robin Cooch (F, 89-94), Gerard McLachlan (F, 89-94), Hamish Phillips (H, 90-95), Christopher Thomson (B, 89-94) and myself, and managed by Roderick Black (F, 89-94), performed at the Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden, London, on 22nd May. In attendance were many OWs, including Julian Ebel (F, 90-95), Luis Dos Santos (D, 90-95), James Davies (F, 89-94), Thomas McLachlan (D, 97-02), Nadim Dimechkie (H, 90-95), Thomas Tibbits (F, 92-94), David Luyombya (B, 89-94), Hughie Phillips (H, 93-98) and Andrew Beejay (D, 89-94), as well as guests from St. Swithun’s and Peter Symonds among others. The possibility of an OTH-Commoner hot was discussed outside The Grafton pub in Camden but was prevented from occurring by members of the band’s brass section. The Beards would like to thank all OWs in attendance and are sincerely hoping that it is not another 20 years until they perform together again.’ JGH Schneider (F, 00-05), the National Organiser of Momentum, is joining the Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn’s office in a strategic communications role, where he will be working alongside SPC Milne (Coll, 71-74).
