Co-writing a Trant’s Revue with Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer et al) was a highlight, while music in Phil’s was always of the highest standard, thanks to a steady T H E T R U S T Y S E RVA N T stream of talented players and singers. I had wondered whether having breakfast, lunch and sometimes tea with 60 teenagers every day would pall, but it never did. Occasional dramas like the Great Phil’s/Freddie’s Firework Battle or the setting off of the alarm system during the annual House Dance kept us on our toes. There were many triumphs, a few disasters and also some tragedies. I was thankful that Housedons before 2000 received few emails and had hardly any encounters with mobile phones or other electronic gadgets. We look back on our twelve years in Phil’s with tremendous fondness, as do our children. I into English by Rob Wyke, Second Master: Trusty Servant. For those who haven’t, it goes something like this.
