T he concept of ethical investing is not a recent phenomenon. Its origins can be traced back to the 1800s when religious groups such as Quakers and Methodists established socially responsible investing (SRI) guidelines for their followers. However, it was not until 1984 that UK funds officially began investing “ethically”. Since then, the industry has accumulated some £15.2bn of funds under management, a
