Not only do they facilitate annual capital construction projects like the gorilla structure, but they are the longest and largest contributors to Zoo Kids, Inc., allowing the Zoo to act as an intermediary between 501(c)(3) non-profit agencies or schools that serve underprivileged youth in the community and the individuals and business leaders who are willing to invest in their future. To date, the Greater Louisville United Labor Picnic, Inc. has contributed over $100,000 to Zoo Kids, Inc. and is the largest donator to the program since its launch in 2005.
