DEVELOPMENT A YEAR OF SUPPORT As 2016 draws to a close, we would like to thank you for all that you have helped us accomplish this year. Our team successfully stepped in with around-the-clock care for infant gorilla, Kindi, and celebrated the birth of two Addax calves. We successfully opened a renovated elephant exhibit and a new Little Penguin Conservation Center. We saw record high attendance for the “World’s Largest Halloween Party!”presented by Meijer and received the “Sustainability Cham- pion” award at the 2016 Metro Louisville Sustainability Summit. Our team works very hard to care for the animals and offer you a clean, safe, educational, and family-friendly environment. We also always keep our eyes looking forward, moving in a strategic manner to best meet the needs of our animal ambassadors, conservation initiatives and you — our dedicated supporters. Philanthropic gifts help round out our annual financial needs and provide new, innovative exhibits and experiences to the community. Every gift, regardless of size, truly makes a difference. As you make year-end plans, we ask that you consider includ- ing the Louisville Zoo. Below are many ways you can help. If you would like to learn more about a specific area of need or just wish to know more, please contact Kelly Grether, Director of Devel- opment, at (502) 238-5615 or [email protected]. 10 Ways to support your Zoo: 1.
