STONEY'S NEWSLETTER

Don't Count Out Spring Browns - So my initial intent was to write about fall browns. In fact the newsletter is all written up and ready for later. As I was going through photos I realized two things. I've caught some great browns this time of year (spring). Yes, spring is sprunging (I think?). That being said, I also realized this is an amazing time to get out in the snow, mud or dirt and target those bad ass browns. I've provided a few examples , as well as a couple helpful tips. Please enjoy this May issue of Trout Porn and more importantly get out there and enjoy this crazy and unpredictable time of year. ~ Stoney

Some spring days the browns just seem to be everywhere. I've noticed it tends to happen on unusually nice days like the one above. Fishing a sink tip & streamer in the deep slow water is a great way to take the best brown in a river system. The photo was taken in the Wyoming lowlands, 2013 on the lower Shoshone by Doug Scott.
