NEW YORK CITY
New York City caters to all kinds of interests, with its soaring icons, fascinating
museums and dynamic Broadway shows. Within the city’s five boroughs—each
distinct and memorable—student groups find endless educational opportunities.
It’s the city that doesn’t sleep, right?
“When it comes to student group travel, there is always something new to
see and do in New York City; it’s the ultimate learning experience,” says Reagan
Stulbaum of NYC & Company. “In addition to iconic landmarks like the Statue of
Liberty, Times Square and the Empire State Building, students can experience
the authentic local culture that our city’s boroughs offer.”
One borough, Manhattan, has two Times Square attractions opening in 2017
that will appeal to students and teachers. The recently opened Gulliver’s Gate
features more than 300 miniature buildings and more than 1,000 model train
cars, as well as 3D printed replicas of New York sites and scenes from around
the world. And opening this fall is National Geographic ENCOUNTER: Ocean
Odyssey, a walk-through experience that uses virtual reality technologies to
transport visitors to breathtaking places under the Pacific Ocean.
