Travelers heading to Seville can see some of the southwestern Spanish city ’ s top sites during a visit to María Luisa Park . One of Europe ’ s most beautiful public spaces , the park along the Guadalquivir River was redesigned leading up to the Ibero-American Exposition that took place in Seville in 1929 .
At the center of the expo was a majestic architectural complex , Plaza de España , where modern-day visitors can see two large towers , four bridges , a moat and a series of benches featuring exquisite tile work . At the other end of the park is the Plaza de America , which includes gardens , ponds , fountains and two popular local museums : the Archaeological Museum of Seville and the Museum of Arts and Traditions of Seville .
