PHILADELPHIA
View from One Liberty Observation Deck
History-rich Philadelphia is continuing to expand its offerings for school
groups with the debut of One Liberty Observation Deck in November
and the much-anticipated arrival of the Museum of the American
Revolution in 2017.
“We are thrilled for the upcoming opening of the Museum of the
American Revolution next year,” said Brian Said, executive director of
tourism for the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Philadelphia
is the birthplace of the nation and the first and only World Heritage city
in the United States. So it’s only fitting to have an attraction dedicated
to the history of where it all began, and the Museum of the American
Revolution will allow groups to immerse themselves in that journey.”
Students will be able to hear the unlikely story of America’s founding
through innovative storytelling technologies and immersive exhibits. The
museum will feature priceless artifacts and interactive displays that offer
a deeper understanding of the events, ideas and individuals that led to
U.S. independence.
Over the past six months, One Liberty Observation Deck has given
visitors a 360-degree view from 883 feet above street level. The

attraction, which is located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia,
provides a sky-high panorama of the greater Philadelphia area from the
enclosed viewing deck. Students also can use interactive touch-screen
kiosks to zoom in on points of interest and learn more about a variety of
local sites.
