When UNESCO added Old Havana to its list of heritage sites in 1982 , it praised the area in the heart of the Cuban capital saying : “ Its overall sense of architectural , historical and environmental continuity makes it the most impressive historical city center in the Caribbean and one of the most notable in the American continent as a whole .”
As travelers walk the streets of Old Havana , they can get a sense for the role the arts play in the lives of Havana residents . Visitors can hear talented singers and instrumentalists perform in the streets and clubs along the Malecón , and see works by a number of artists , many of whom have studios in their homes and welcome visitors in to see their work .

Castle Church
Wittenberg , Germany , is the epicenter of the Reformation Jubilee , a worldwide celebration of the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther ’ s public rejection of numerous Catholic Church practices .
“ The Castle Church in Lutherstadt ( Luther City ) Wittenberg is where the Protestant reformer Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the door in 1517 ,” says Christian Utpatel , founder and owner of Terra Lu Travel , a tour company based in Homberg . “ From here on , the Reformation movement changed the church , but also the social and political life in Europe and all around the world .”
The official rededication of Castle Church will take place this October , a year ahead of the official anniversary , Oct . 31 , 2017 . The observance has been preceded by a 10-year run-up — the Luther Decade — and many special events are scheduled in the coming months .
Terra Lu Travel ’ s tours feature top Luther sites in Wittenberg and nearby cities . Utpatel said groups go to Castle Church , which in addition to being where the 95 Theses were hung is the place where Luther is buried . Other popular stops include Luther House , where the reformer lived , and Town Church , home to the famous Cranach altar and where Luther regularly preached .
