Chris Berry Berry Chris Berry was an all-around athlete at both Laurel County and South Laurel, where he starred in football, basketball and baseball. As a junior he was honorable mention all-state in football, fi rst team all-district, WYMT MVP of the Laurel Bowl, an Academic All-State honorable mention, and Coca Cola Walmart Bowl Best Off ensive Back. In basketball he was a member of the All-District Tournament Team and 12th Region Junior All-Stars. In baseball he was All- District and a member of the Kentucky East-West Junior All-Stars. His senior season was even better. In football he was fi rst team All-District, District Player of the Year, Honorable Mention All-State, and named to the Kentucky High School All-Star Team which played the Tennessee All-Stars. In basketball he made the All-Tournament teams at both the Thoroughbred Classic and Savannah Holiday Classic, the 48th District All-Tournament Team, the 48th District Player of the Year, and 12th Region All-Tournament Team. He was also a member of the 12th Region All-Tournament team in baseball. After high school he would go on to star at Morehead State University, where he again excelled in all three sports. Chris Berry was a four-year starter for the football and baseball programs from 1994-98. As a fi fth year senior (1998-99) and graduate assistant football coach, he also played for the basketball team under Coach Kyle Macy. Berry is one of the most accomplished athletes in school history. He was the football single season leader in scoring (1995, 1996), touchdowns (1995-97), receiving (1995-97), and receiving yards (1997).
