The “Crossroads of Southeast- ern Kentucky” offers a little something for everybody. For the outdoor enthusiasts, Laurel River Lake and Wood Creek Lake offer the best in boating, fishing, water skiing an camping with several boat ramps to launch your boat from in hopes of either landing that trophy fish or maybe just cruisin around in your boat on a hot summer day. There are also several campgrounds located throughout the Daniel Boone National Forest if you want to spend a few nights under the stars. Levi Jackson State Park, located in London, is another popular destination for vacationers with a swimming pool, miniature golf, campground, museum and Tree Top Adven- tures, which features five courses from beginning to advanced o 12 elements each. Tennis, anyone? Both South Laurel High School and North Laurel High School have six courts each which the public can use when the school teams aren’t using them. There are also courts located at Crooked Creek Golf Course and the London Country Club that are open to members only. London is also known as the Bicycling Capital of Kentucky, with the Red Bud Ride and Thriller Ride held during the spring and fall. Cyclists from all over the United States converge on London to participate in the Red Bud Ride, and cyclists of all levels can take part in this event with different length rides.
