Previous pages: A 2.5cm-thick glass counter sits
at dining table height on the front of the island,
allowing the use of more comfortable seating than
a breakfast bar stool. There is no splashback as
such in this kitchen, as the work counters back
onto windows. These are sandblasted glass to
screen out neighbours and include two operable
side panes to aid cross-ventilation.
Above: Sliding glass doors open up the dining area
and kitchen to the pool that runs alongside the
living areas. These large doors are on a lift-slide
mechanism, which ensures the process of opening
them is always effortless.
