On a functional level, architect Craig Steere has designed a home that’s ideal for a family with four mature sons – with separate
spaces for the parents and younger members of the family, as well as communal areas where everyone could be together.
But it’s how those spaces are organised along the axis of the site and then tied together with innovative design elements that made
the house the standout entry with the judges for TIDA International Home of the Year.
This home also won TIDA Australian Home of the Year.
The TIDA New Zealand Home of the Year was awarded to Paul Leuschke of Leuschke Kahn Architects, Auckland.
