IN THE THICKET
Clinging to our lattes, and gushing over the style picks for the shoot,
we met at our studio hours before the crack of dawn for hair and
makeup. Off-duty model, Abby Schoonover, arrived in a pair of
joggers and a slouchy crew neck with damp, freshly clean hair.
Before driving over an hour to our shooting location at an indoor
garden, our beauty team transformed Schoonover into a warrior in
the thickets with bold blue eyes, a vibrant lip, multi-colored head
wrap, and beautifully crafted earrings.
This shoot was inspired by a warrior coming to life with shades of
greens and textured details. We used shades of turquoise and blue
to pull out the tropical tones from the garden and fell in love with
the structure, cut-outs, and hues of the dress. We were inspired by
the stem system of the leaves and how shadows fell on the
embroidery of the dress.
Accentuating her strong shoulders and long limbs, the silhouette of
this dress fit Schoonover like a dream. Soft-spoken and gentle in
conversation, Schoonover depicted the inner strength and
adventure she lives to attain. Her piercing blue eyes, which had our
whole team swooning, pulled out the deep, tropical blues in the
garden and tied the entire look together.
