Are you afraid of failure, or

do you fear success?

It is a well-known fact that if you do what everyone else does, you are likely to obtain the same results! I observed a rookie in our office many years ago as she watched a senior sales person pick up the phone and dial one number after the other. She watched intently and then she picked up the phone: "Hello, Mom...."! This was followed by a call to her dentist, manicurist and several friends.

Hmmm... she was doing what she had been told to do - to make calls first thing in the morning, but hadn't got it quite right!

You see, we can emulate the greatest business people on Earth and still not succeed!

Take business networking as a prime example... we've all seen them... when you ask them what they do (or what business they're in), they throw up on your hem, giving you every detail of why YOU need THEIR business! Again, right idea - wrong method! These are the people that smile sweetly as they tuck business cards in your hand, while looking for their next target!

Entrepreneurs, especially are at risk, because they work in isolation and don't have the brainstorming interaction with colleagues that corporate employees have. Consequently, they slip into the groove of their routine which rapidly progresses from a rut into a grave leaving them wondering why their business does not produce the results that they expected.

Sales people fall, all too quickly into the trap of new gizmos, gatchets and programs that they are offered, in the hopes that 'THIS one will be the key to success', but few are - you have to be mindful of those who have gone before you... those who have burned their fingers and paid the big bucks to find out how YOU can save money, by NOT doing what they did, when they failed!

No-one can function entirely alone and it is vital to hear about what others are doing - what worked and what didn't work and then talk about why.

Don't be afraid to spend money, but be discerning and take professional advice before you rush in and make sure that your expenditure is in accordance with your budget before you do so.
