Cayman Landing Updates

Finally – Summer is here!

What a joy it was to see activity in the Campground over the Memorial Day Weekend.

Many of our faithful are back for the season, and, we saw many new faces visiting Cayman Landing. Every day we are looking to improve the campground and cabins. An important part of this are the surveys that are being filled out. I am taking the input from the first survey very seriously and these will all be passed on to upper management. The last day to drop these off at the campground office or comfort center drop boxes is June 5th. You will find surveys throughout the campground, or at the office.

We are working towards finishing off the repairs/replacement of the grinder pumps at comfort center #1 so we can open this soon. We continue to improve the water and electric inputs at several of the sites. Expect new picnic tables soon. We will be exchanging out mattresses and the pull-out sofas in some of the cabins as well.

Our propane exchange at the office is going well. You can exchange 30 lbs. tanks for $22 and 20 lbs. tanks for $16. We are stocking the reception area of the office with nice Cayman Landing merchandise that is certainly eye catching (thanks to Molly). We also still can fill tanks – call the office at 814-913-1437 to make arrangements.

Pump-outs are being provided by Sweet Pea Potties. These will be done on Mondays and Thursdays. The cost is $30 and we will schedule these thru the

Cayman Office. Checks can be made out to Sweet Pea (or cash) and we will schedule your pump-out. You will just need to stop by the office and fill out a form.

We think you will like the new activity room at the Ice Cream Shack – please stop in and check things out. You will find books, television and more. This is your room and we will continue to develop things that you want to see. It is both adult and kid friendly.

“Dumpster” the Bear is out and about. Look for him not only at Cayman, but throughout Treasure Lake.

We had a wonderful Memorial Day Service – Sunday, May 25th. I want to thank Command Sgt. Major (retired) – Chuck Huddy – who delivered a wonderful speech. The VFW Color Guard was also fabulous. This service meant a lot to me and to those in attendance. I know this is a start to a great annual event.

We would like to welcome Erin Brown to our Cayman staff. She will join Molly and me as we continue to provide you the best service possible. Remember we are here for you.

The 4th of July Holiday is shaping up to be a great one. We expect the campground and cabins to be full. What a great way to spend the extended weekend – along with all the other activities throughout the Lake. Don’t forget the wonderful Fireworks – set for Saturday July 5th.

Look for more activities and fun at the campground this summer. We’ll do our best to keep you informed as we continue to make Cayman Landing the true “Treasure” of Treasure Lake.
