911 ADDRESS SIGNS

In the premature hope of the early arrival of spring, I would like to extend a reminder to those who have not placed your 911 address signs at your residences.

As per Sandy Township Ordinance 8-1999 and the Clearfield Commissioners Resolution 98-14:

It shall be the responsibility of each and every property owner of each residence to post and maintain address numbers as required under this policy at all times. Undeveloped lots are excluded. It shall be the duty of the above mentioned upon affixing a new address number to remove any conflicting number on the same sign. Section and lot numbers may be posted in addition to the 911 address signs. However, they must be posted on a separate sign and/or post. It shall be unlawful to cover any address number with any sign, drapery, or obstruction to conceal such number.

The address number shall be made up of numbers and/or letters which are not less than four (4) inches in height; contrasting in color with the background on which they are affixed as near to the front entrance as possible and practical so that the number is legible from the sidewalk (if any), the road and the opposite side of the street day or night. If the address identifier is placed on a post near the road, it must be a minimum of forty-eight (48) inches in height above the ground.

You may make or purchase a sign that meets the requirements from any vendor. You may also order your sign from the Treasure Lake Fire Company (TLFC). For additional information on 911 address signs, contact the TLFC at 814-371-9144, or Property Control at 814-371-0711 Ext. 110.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Property Control at 814-371-0711 Ext. 110
