Lecture Series

The Lakeview Lodge was proud to welcome Maryann Fyda on November 21 as she discussed "the language of art". As infants and young children, we all respond to the visual and pictorial world before we are even old enough to speak, and later to read. We first learn to understand our environment from what we see. We understand our world from the "language of art ": lines, forms, colors and textures. Making it an interactive experience, Maryann did a wonderful job expanding on this theme with simple short demos and examples (prints) of art work.

Christmas Tea

The weather outside was frightful but the Christmas Tea at the Lakeview Lodge was so delightful! Treasure Lake's Annual Christmas Tea was a sold out occasion this holiday season. Our guests enjoyed an afternoon of beautifully prepared finger sandwiches and light dessert along with assorted tea. Barbara Stooley-Keller kept everyone in the spirit with her lively and wonderful Christmas music.

New Years Eve Party

2014 was rung in loud and clear as Dan Miller’s food was front and center, but Lakeview Lodge Bartender Marcie and her crew were not to be outdone as their hand-crafted cocktails created a festive mood enjoyed by everyone. At 9 pm everyone was ready to boogie on down with the sounds of DJ Jimmy Jam. A wonderful time was had by all as the evening came to an end with Auld Lang Syne and a champagne toast to the New Year!

Halos-n-Holly

Enchanté Cabaret preformed to another sold out crowd as they brought Christmas to the Lakeview Lodge with their performance of Halos-n-Holly. This was truly a magical performance as all your favorite holiday carols came to life on stage. Matching the show in every way, was Chef Dan Miller and his wonderful cuisine. With rave reviews about the outstanding show and the spectacular cuisine the event was the highlight of this Holiday Season!

Don't miss the next perfomance from Enchanté Cabaret on February 8th, as they bring "The Bohemian Bizarre" to the Lakeview Lodge!

With Appreciation for an Exceptional Year Full of Events

Lecture Series

On Thursday, January 16, 2014 Mr. Todd Thompson from the DuBois Historical Society captivated a full house at the Lakeview Lodge with his knowledge of the DuBois Manson. Mr. Thompson discussed the architecture of the building as being the most memorable the area has known. Constructed in 1875 by John DuBois the mansion was located on the present site of the Penn State DuBois campus. It was remodeled in 1902 by John Ezekial DuBois into a Tudor country estate, with half-timbering, lancet arch windows, cinquefoil designs, and finials.

Following John E. DuBois’ death in 1934, the Mansion was vested with the DuBois Campus of Penn State University and the DuBois Education Foundation. The building was used for many years by the campus for classroom space and other uses. Look for our Lecture Series to continue throughout the year.
