Recommendations
Participants suggested awareness campaigns to educate and facilitate self-
learning on all issues by informing people and giving them tools to find out
more. Focus group discussions were the most popular recommendation.
People were frustrated that they do not lead to big changes but we can show
them that learning, discussing, and shifting perceptions is substantial change.
Participants proposed panels with MPs, academics, civil servants, and
activists so that they could inquire and learn more. Blogs were also suggested
where youth could write and submit articles on current issues. This is feasible
as it is long-term and relatively easy to implement. Moreover, it gives youth
agency in writing.
More youth groups,
including those of other
ethnic groups, could to
be involved in the
discussions as well.
