ARTS & LANGUAGE
This section aims to highlight and present key issues that were offered during
the Maathi Yosi seminar with regards to the involvement and the participation
of youth in the Tamil Arts and Language scene.
This section will also aim to provide possible solutions or recommendations to
cultivate sustainable youth interest in the Tamil Arts and Language.
Based on an initial ground survey
that was conducted, as seen in figure
1, participants were of the opinion
that after university, there are not
enough opportunities to facilitate an
individual’s exploration of the Arts.
The discussions during the seminar
ascertained exactly which areas were
in need of improvement.
The issues that were discussed
focused on three main tenants:
1. Theatre & film production
interest
2. Dance & music involvement
and participation
3. Language, novel writing &
education interest
