Located within 30 minutes of West Virginia’s two biggest cities,
Valley Park in Hurricane, West Virginia, has long attracted visitors
to its Waves of Fun pool, generous walking trails and seasonal
activities and events. But with a 15 million dollar renovation that
includes a new conference center, a new regulation-sized soccer
field, and new baseball/softball fields, Valley Park is set to be-
come a premiere event and sports tournament destination for
the region.
The grand re-opening of Valley Park in May of 2018 will allow
others to see the final product of this project’s ingenuity and ef-
fort. There is no greater feeling than building a park that impacts
our community in a profound way.
Visitors to the park can enjoy small town charm with a warm wel-
come in the area’s growing local food scene and boutique shops.
Or guests can be in downtown Charleston or Huntington within
minutes to access even more arts, culture, and historic attractions.
“Putnam County’s convenient location in the heart of West Vir-
ginia’s Metro Valley gives visitors the opportunity to experience
the best of West Virginia’s two largest cities while getting away
and relaxing in an area full of small town charm,” explains Kelli Dai-
ley, Putnam County CVB Executive Director. “These upgrades to
Valley Park make what was already a centerpiece in our commu-
nity even more of a jewel that we can’t wait for people to enjoy.”
Additional planned upgrades to Valley
Park include an 18-hole disc golf course,
an expanded green space for community
events, an all-inclusive playground, a play-
ground obstacle course and 40-yard dash
with interactive timing features, and new
tennis courts. The conference center can
seat over 1,000 guests in conference-style
seating and more than 400 at tables. The
space may be divided into thirds for break-
out sessions and features high quality
sound and visual technology.
The Valley Park Conference Center will
be a centerpiece in the county. Our goal
is to host large conferences, banquets,
weddings, and receptions. It will be the
perfect place to host your event. Our ven-
ues offer large and small spaces that give
you the flexibility to create your ideal at-
mosphere.
