South Padre Island is gorgeous. With calm waves and white sand, it is an
utterly relaxing atmosphere. But once a year, the town gets a new name:
Spring Break Island. Co-eds from all over flock to the island to dance their
spring break away to top hits mixed by DJs, and frolic in the rays of the
soon-to-be summer sun.
But drinking and dancing will hardly
scratch the surface of what there is
to do here. Go ziplining or kite-
boarding. Participate in an obstacle
course and challenge your physical
strength. Hang out at the beach-
front waterpark. Go jet skiing or
parasailing. Take a party cruise. The
possibilities are endless, and South
Padre really goes all out for their
visitors during this time of year.
Most of these activities are family-
friendly, so if you are traveling with
younger children, they can take
part in the festivities safely, too.
Spend a day dolphin watching, or
rent a boat and go deep-sea fish-
ing. Take a windsurfing class and
master the wind and the waves.
Whatever you are in the mood for,
one thing is certain: it is all about the
coast!
