Mercer County, WV, is nestled deep in the heart of scenic
Appalachia. From our rich coal history to our challenging
off-road trails, we have a unique heritage to share. ATV ex-
peditions, baseball rivalries and outdoor adventures.
Traverse more than 700 miles of wilderness terrain on the
Hatfield-McCoy Trail system - one of the largest off-road
systems in the country. You can even rent ATVs or go with
a guide.

Start your journey in Mercer County, home of the Poca-
hontas trailhead. It has routes for every driver and level.
There are plenty of places to roll your ATV on up for
cozy accommodations - everything from a treehouse
to cozy cabins. Plus, you’re close to Bramwell, so you
can end your day of rugged muddin’ by exploring Mil-
lionaire Row. The historic town is famous for Victorian mansions built in the
early 1900s. They’re open for tours in the spring and at Christmas.
The Corner Shop in Bramwell makes mouth-watering burgers and fries. You can’t leave without dessert
made from the old-fashioned ice cream soda foundation! If you are looking for something to do at night,
the Railyard, in Bluefield, has live music to go with their craft beer and awesome menu.
Crystal chandeliers, an airy verandah and a masculine billiards room - 20 th century touches make the
Bluefield Inn one of our top B&Bs. You don’t have to spend the night to appreciate its charms, though.
Restaurant 2109 has gourmet meals like roast pork loin, baked trout, rustic apple tart and honey walnut
bread pudding.
Looking for a restful retreat to relax? Walk along a sparkling stream. Along the way, you’ll spot the Blue-
stone River, pale sandstone cliffs and southern West Virginia’s largest waterfall: Brush Creek Falls. Brush
Creek Preserve is particularly appealing in spring, when wildlife is stirring.
