EAA AIRVENTURE OSHKOSH
the World’s Greatest
Aviation Celebration!
Oshkosh, Wisconsin, is similar to many
medium-sized Midwestern cities, except
in late July when the world’s busiest air-
port isn’t in Chicago, Atlanta or London.
It’s in Oshkosh, when the Experimental
Aircraft Association (EAA) holds its an-
nual EAA AirVenture fly-in convention.
The event attracts more than 500,000
people and 10,000 airplanes to east
central Wisconsin. And those are air-
planes of all types, from the smallest ul-
tralight to jumbo jetliners and military
transports. Visitors from more than 70
nations gather at Wittman Regional Air-
port to see almost everything that flies.
The weeklong event, this year from July

24-30, offers an unmatched adventure
land of flight. Imagine spending one day
doing everything from exploring a mas-
sive Air Force C-5 transport plane, to a
hands-on drone demonstration, to hear-
ing from an astronaut who walked on
the moon, to seeing an amazing night
air show. That’s just one day at EAA Air-
Venture, with six more just like it!
It’s also a great family event, with clean
grounds and special areas just made for
kids, where they can discover the world
of flight through simulators, drones,
hands-on projects and cool events. It’s
a perfect place for those who love flight,
history, innovation, technology, or just
people watching.
Among the 2017 highlights are the U.S.
Navy Blue Angels jet team, an Apollo
astronaut reunion, salutes to World War
II anniversaries, and much more. It’s well
worth a day trip to Oshkosh or, even
better, camping among thousands of
fellow flight enthusiasts from all over the
world.
All the highlights, schedules, and things
you need to know are available at
EAA.org/AirVenture , where you can pur-
chase advance tickets and camping
credentials. It’s said that if it has flown, is
flying, or will fly, it will come to Oshkosh!
